Specific Action
Safety Is a Shared Responsibility
The future of the safety movement is not so much dependent upon the invention of safety devices as on the improvement of methods of educating people to the ideal of caution and safety.

Teens
Embrace Life
We see you! We know the influence of peers and social media make it hard to see the dangers associated with not wearing your seat belt, driving distracted, driving impaired, or participating in any other kind of risky roadway behaviour. Please know that the risks are very real and can happen without warning; when you least expect it. You think it will never happen to you. You think you will never get in a crash…until you do. Shea-Lynn’s Butterfly Effect’s only hope is that when you do, you are prepared with your seat belt on. To learn about how fast it can happen, read Shea-Lynn’s story.
"No fun. I can’t embrace freedom that way!" you say Well, you couldn’t be farther from the truth. You can’t live out all your dreams if you don’t live to see tomorrow. Someone loves you and needs you home.
Be Involved
Parents
From the time that your kid’s car seats turn around and become front-facing, your kids are observing your every move. You lead the way and shape whom they become as drivers themselves! They learn whether it is important to follow the rules of the road, whether you should care for the safety of those in the vehicle with you, and what risks “are acceptable” to take. Are you modelling safe driving behaviour?
If the answer is no, it’s not too late to start. There is still time to make safety a priority within your family and model the behaviour you would hope for your teens. You can still influence safer lifelong driving behaviours that can save your child’s life.
Community Leaders
Influence Change
As business owners, school administrators, medical professionals, coaches, first responders, etc. you cross paths with many other people every day. You have the opportunity to spread awareness and maybe see into the lives of others in a different way. What are you doing to spread awareness and either address risky behaviour or encourage safer behaviour?
