Seat Belt Checks

Reinforcing safe choices, one conversation at a time.

Overview

High School Seat Belt Checks provide schools with an opportunity to reinforce the importance of consistent seat belt use at the moment it matters most, before students leave the parking lot. Through positive conversations and encouragement, students are reminded to buckle up, wear their seat belt properly, and help keep themselves and their passengers safe.

Why It Matters

Knowing the importance of seat belts and consistently wearing one aren't always the same thing.

A simple reminder at the right moment can encourage students to pause, buckle up properly, and think about the choices that help keep everyone in the vehicle safe.

How It Works

Planning

We work with your school to schedule a convenient date and coordinate logistics.

Volunteer Orientation

Volunteers receive high-visibility safety vests and a brief overview of the initiative before the event begins.

The Seat Belt Check

As students prepare to leave the parking lot, volunteers greet them, visually confirm proper seat belt use, hand out information cards and stickers, and reinforce the importance of buckling up every trip.

Working Together

School staff, student volunteers, and community safety partners help create a positive, educational experience focused on encouraging safer choices, not enforcement.
