Sharad first met Brenda (Shea-Lynn's mother) through the MBA program at the University of Alberta, where she worked with Shea-Lynn’s Butterfly Effect as part of a consulting project.

From the beginning, she felt a strong sense of shared purpose. Coming from Bangladesh, where road safety remains a critical issue—with seatbelt usage as low as 5% and road traffic deaths estimated to exceed 30,000 annually—Sharad has seen how preventable many of these tragedies are. Shea-Lynn’s story reinforced that behind every statistic is a real life and a preventable loss.

Sharad is honoured to continue contributing as a board member. She believes meaningful change begins with conversation and is sustained through community-driven action. Sharad is a Information and Process Improvement Analyst at the Executive Council and a part-time MBA student at the University of Alberta. She also teaches music and occasionally performs as a vocalist.
