I am Shea-Lynn’s mother and the founder of Shea-Lynn’s Butterfly Effect. Immediately following the tragic loss of my daughter, I knew in my heart that I needed to get the public talking again at home and at work, about the importance of wearing a seat belt and making other safe choices while on the road. Talking about the importance of wearing a seat belt has become a forgotten topic. We assume our spouses, parents, children, and employees know better and are buckling up. However, it has become very clear to me following Shea-Lynn’s crash, this is not so. Far too many people have a false sense of security around their safety and because of this, lives are lost every year because they don’t properly secure themselves in a seat belt. It is my intention to bring this discussion again to the forefront of everyone’s minds and save lives, one seat belt conversation at a time.

With a Bachelor of Arts (BA) Degree in Psychology, over 13 years of experience in the social service industry, and a passion to make a difference in the lives of others, I began my crusade of spreading seat belt awareness. With a proven history of delivering relatable and informative presentations and a deep desire to improve public safety, I work tirelessly to share my family’s story in hopes that others will learn from it and that a similar tragedy will be avoided.
